per mostrare i messaggi di sistema e vedere, per es. se ha montato un device:
dmesg
mount / ram disk (Paolo)
tar xvfz lib.tgz.tar -C ./ --- extract hets libraries
montare in nfs:
mount sun450.isib.cnr.it:/home/corsofse/public_html/ /home/nino/Desktop/sun/
Cambiare in n. di IP:
editare:
/etc/sysconfig/network
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
Fare restart della rete:
/sbin/service network restart
Per settare la keyboard:
su emacs /etc/X11/xorg.conf
rtf2latex
Per attivare ssh(secure shell): > service sshd start
Per fermare la rete: service net stop

Installazione TeX

  1. Download Gerben Wierda's gwTeX. You also need the i-installer.
  2. Install TeX using i-installer.
  3. Download and install TeXshop.

To concatenate file1.pdf, file2.pdf, file3.pdf etc into a single file all.pdf you can use the command

texexec --result all.pdf file1.pdf file2.pdf file3.pdf

To concatenate all pdf files in a directory pdfdir into a single file all.pdf (in alphabetic order) you can use

texexec --result all.pdf `ls *.pdf`

texexec --help
>sudo find /usr -name "gimp"
Come eseguire uno script "s" in bash:

in tcsh:

Estendere il PATH

in Panther:
chmod u+x .profile
pico .profile
Aggiungere:
PATH="$PATH:."
export PATH

chmod u+x .bashrc
export PATH=$PATH:.

chmod u+x .tshrc
setenv PATH {$PATH}:.


per far usare Xwin locale da un processo remoto (bash)
in locale: xhost +
in remoto: export DISPLAY=150.178.2.133:0.0


per conoscere le variabili globali: env
per PATH: echo $PATH

Type in env then hit enter, in the terminal app you should get alot of text to pop up, look for
PATH = /usr/bin etc....
if it doesnt have /usr/local/bin in that string then you will need to edit your csh.login file, this is located in /etc
type this:
sudo pico csh.login
now there should be a line like this in this file
sentenv PATH="/usr/bin:/sbin/:/bin"

Now add /usr/local/bin to the end of that line, it should look somthing like this
sentenv PATH="/usr/bin:/sbin/:/bin:/usr/local/bin"

now hit ctrl then o then hit enter
now hit ctrl then x
